Official Statement to the Citizens of the Kingdom of the Iris Isles
Dear Citizens of Iris,
Today, I address you with a significant update regarding our region's diplomatic stance and international affiliations. After thoughtful consideration and thorough discussions with our government, it has been decided that the Kingdom of the Iris Isles will withdraw from the United Regions of Valeria (URV). This decision did not come easily and marks a pivotal moment in our journey as a sovereign region.
Over the past seven months, we have enjoyed a fruitful relationship with the URV and its member regions, fostering ties built on mutual respect and shared goals. We are grateful to the President of the URV and all its members for the camaraderie and collaboration that we experienced during our time as a member.
However, as we continually assess our strategic position and the evolving needs of our people, it has become clear that the benefits of our membership in the URV no longer align with our regional priorities. More critically, continued membership could potentially complicate our diplomatic efforts and hinder our ability to conduct foreign relations as autonomously as we must to protect and promote the interests of Iris.
This decision is not about severing ties but about adjusting our focus and strategy to better safeguard the future development and prosperity of our region. We remain committed to maintaining and nurturing our relationships with individual regions and nations, both within and outside the URV. Our approach will be one of friendly distance from the Union, allowing us to more freely pursue opportunities and alliances that align with our regional interests.
To all involved, this is a transition filled with both challenges and immense potential. We are not ending relationships but reshaping them in ways that will allow us to thrive. We look forward to our continued friendship with some of the URV regions but we no longer wish to be a member. We are excited about deepening our ties with other allies like NSUK and beyond.
As we move forward, we ask for the unity and support of each citizen of Iris. Your resilience and commitment to our collective vision fuel our progress and inspire our path. Together, we have great things to look forward to, and I am confident in our region's bright future.
