Foreign Affairs Act of the Region of Iris
Section I – General Provisions
1. This Act shall govern the establishment and maintenance of diplomatic relations and international cooperation of the Region of Iris (hereinafter referred to as "the Region") with other regions and alliances.
2. Any region seeking to establish an embassy within the Region must adhere to the following requirements:
1. Possess a Regional Message Board (RMB) post from at least 10 days prior to the request.
2. Show evidence of active recruitment, maintaining a minimum of 35 nations, including at least 5 World Assembly Nations.
3. Submit a formal request stating the reasons for desiring an embassy with the Region.
4. Not maintain embassies with any regions identified as Fascist or Totalitarian.
5. Maintain a stable environment and government.
6. Provide an ambassador to foster communication and cooperation between the regions.
7. Not operate primarily as a puppet or storage region, unless identified as a defender or a regional restoration organization.
Section II – Review Process
1. Once a region meets the above requirements, the Region will review and consider the request.
2. The Councilor of Foreign Affairs or the First Councilor must review all embassies every three months.
3. The Region reserves the right, through the Council of Nations, to update or modify these standards as needed.
Section III – Closure and Appeals
1. In the event of an embassy closure, the region of the closing embassy may appeal the decision to the Councilor of Foreign Affairs or the First Councilor.
Section IV – Restrictions/Desirable Traits
1. Regions with a Fascist tag are prohibited from establishing embassies within the Region.
2. Region’s harboring Deleted On Site game players must seek an exemption from the Iris Government. Failure to disclose this information will result in immediate rejection.
3. Region having toxic environments or constant Out of Character problems will result in immediate rejection.
4. Regions lying on the embassy application will result in immediate rejection.
A. Desirable traits for regions seeking to establish embassies include:
1. Having an "anti-fascist" tag.
2. Possessing an active policy of not tolerating Nazi/Fascist nations within their region.
3. Have a stable government and environment.
4. Had a consulate or the Iris government have a strong relationship with the region given a treaty or previous relations.
Section V – Exemptions
1. Exemptions may also be granted upon application and approval by the Executive Council.

Section VI – Sanctions
1. Sanctions, as defined by this Act, represent penalties for disobeying the laws or infringing upon the sovereignty of the Region or its alliances.
2. The First Councilor and the Councilor of Foreign Affairs may impose or lift sanctions as they see fit.
3. Sanctions may be applied to individuals, regions, or groups, and can take the following forms:
1. Persona Non Grata: Unwelcome individuals, regions, or groups will be banned from the Region, discord, and offsite property.
2. World Assembly Sanctions: The Region may deny World Assembly support to sanctioned individuals, regions, or groups, including voting against their proposals or blocking them before they reach quorum.
3. Military Assistance Sanctions: The Region may withhold military support from sanctioned individuals, regions, or groups.
4. Sanctions are a last resort and the Region will always strive for peaceful resolution through diplomatic efforts.
