As you have already found out, Iris has merged with NUK. Though some find it good, many find it as a betrayal, because this was all to sudden and we had no say in this.
But I decided to look into our Regional Charter, and discovered few things. Mainly, the Soverign doesn't hold power to make decisions such as this. The powers of the Soverign are limited by the Constitution, and therefore the Soverign would have to work with the Joint Council to conduct such a merger. Though the Soverign is the founder, constitution makes it clear that the Soverign is a ceremonial role and only holds limited power, such as calling elections, dissolving Parliament and so.
The decision of the merger was made by one man and one man only, our King. But for such decision, it should also be our decision, as House of Nobles and Executive Council. Executive Council is our government, yet they are not even brought into the so called discussions that took place. I call upon the members of our chambers to stand with me and motion to reverse this undemocratic decision by the powers provided to us by the Charter.
