Good Afternoon, Iris Second council and citizens of this amazing region of Iris.
I sit here today in my office to address you for the first time. Few of you might know me as Valator in The Democratic Republic, my real name is Jack Williams. I want to thank President Kennedy for this appointment and I look forward to leading this second council and help grow this region domestically and interregionally in the world of Nationstates. During this term as First Council I have a full agenda for this second council and I look to help in each of these tasks with my council members. Iris is young and youthful in experience, As First Councilor I look to lead this young council in producing strong legislation and build this region domestically to show to our allies that we are active and growing in this vast community interregionally.
To start growing, we need a solid economic system connected to the regional bank that will bring financial stability for Iris. This economic system which will be democratically set up through our Interior councilor and voted on in the council, will help keep each of our citizens' pockets full. It is top priority that this system is created sooner than later and I as First Councilor will help the new Interior Councilor in making this system and getting it set up for success.
Foreign Affairs is my bread and butter, I have been an ambassador for over 3 years and have been the Minister of Foreign Affairs in TDR. I have helped keep the allies of TDR informed of all news and events that occurs in that region. In order for the our allies to know of our growth and success, we need an ambassador system that will produce strong minded ambassadors to spread our regional news to our allies in the URV and Trident Alliance. This ambassador system will be huge part of Foreign Affairs council and with it, we can assure that our allies will be informed on the positive growth and changes to this young growing region.
This region is currently 118 nations strong. I believe its peak was around 124 last month. I have the idea that this region can excel in recruitment and crush that peak and make it to 130, no 140 regions strong by the beginning of the year. However, in order for this to happen, Iris needs a strong recruitment system. President Kennedy has been able to grow this region already through his own system but I would like to see innovation to our recruitment and bring a more modern and upgraded system to bring our region to higher peaks in the number of citizens in this region. I know we can do this and I look forward to that challenge.
President Kennedy has been able to solidify our justice system through an executive order, On my agenda is to bring that EO and reshape it into legislation and have an official justice system created and voted on by the second council. As First Councilor, I will see this piece of legislation through to the end of my term. We can not function without a good and strong justice and legal system to provide us the lawful ability to punish those who break the law of Iris. I will assure that this will be created and solidified for the betterment of this great region.
This region cannot function without the vast 118 nations and citizens we have here in this region. In order for this region to grow, we need involvement from all of our active citizens. Join the Roleplay and get involved there and have fun with our very own Interior Councilor, Everett, and RP councilor, Rosebaum. They are bringing roleplay to this region in great ways and in order for its success, they need the citizens of this region to get involved. To further grow involvement, I want to create a cultural events department within our interior council. This department will help create events for our citizens to get involved and bring activity to the region on the NS, Forum, and discord side of the region.
I want to end this address by thanking once again President Kennedy for this appointment and also former First Councilor, Everett for a smooth transition to me in this position. I can't wait to build a strong region here and create growth and prosperity to Iris for the coming months. thank you.
