TO BE ENACTED by the President’s official signature, advice and consent of the Council of Nations and its leadership as assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Article I || Titles
1.00 || This Act may be cited and referred to in short as the Presidential Line of Succession Act.
1.01 || This Act may be referred to in full as the Presidential Line of Succession Act of 2023 to help ensure a smooth transition for the Presidency.

2.00 || The Presidency is the most important and symbolic position in the region of Iris and must have a constant line of succession to ensure the smooth transition whether it’s permanent or temporary. The line of succession for the office of President shall follow,
- Chancellor of Iris
- Vice Chancellor of Iris
- Any member of the Presidential family the sitting president deems worthy.
2.01 || The President is charged with posting their line of succession for any purpose whether it’s temporary, permanent, or any unique times.
Article III || Authority of an Acting President
3.00 || The President is entitled to entrust the authority of the office to an acting President as defined in Article 2.01. The term “Acting President” shall be defined as someone who serves in the office with limited authority defined in this act,
- Act as the Chief Executive with the authority to sign or veto legislation that passes the Council of Nations.
- Stand in the place of the President at ceremonial events or during times at Wagoner Hall.
- Shall be known as the President Pro Tempore during their time acting for the President.
- Have all the administrative powers on the discord and forum.
- Chair the Privy Council if necessary.
- Charged with the regional security of the region.
- Any other Presidential powers mentioned in the Constitution as Executive Orders, Pardons, the recognition as Commander in Chief are all off limits unless the President Pro Tempore gets permission from the Council of Nations. That special extended authority shall last no longer than three days.
3.01 || The conduct and actions of the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, and any family member of the President appointed to Presidential duties are important in the region of Iris. They are entitled to protect the sovereignty of the region, perform ceremonies when requested, give advice to the President and First Councilor, and are an extension of the President. No one can use the Presidential Authority besides the President.
Article IV || Selection of a Permanent President
4.00 || When selecting the new permanent President whether because of abdication, going inactive, or anything that would cause the President to end their reign must ensure a smooth transition to the next President.
4.01 || The line of succession shall be in effect as the next President assumes the office of President immediately once the former President departs from their position. The confirmation for the next President and their line of succession must be passed by the Council of Nations with at least 3/4 vote in favor of the new President and their new Chancellor and Vice Chancellor.
4.02 || If the new President cannot be confirmed by the Council of Nations, there must be an election held in the Council of Nations to determine the new President. Until the Council chooses its new President, the formerly known as Chancellor becomes the President Pro Tempore until the election is complete.
